The Year of the Snake Celebrated with Style!

At midnight on February 10, 2013, Chinese around the world began to welcome the lunar New Year, ushering in the "Year of the Snake."

At Parker, the region's largest Chinese Adult Day Health Care Program began its celebration with a resounding Gong Xi Fa Ca! - the Mandarin Chinese New Year greeting that means "wishing you prosperity." Parker's President and CEO, Michael N. Rosenblut and Executive Vice President Stuart B. Almer joined in the Program's week-long celebration by distributing bright red purses filled with chocolate coins, and extending wishes for a prosperous year as they followed the dragon - hand-made every year by Program participants - as it danced through the Center. Traditional foods, music, dancing, and story-telling, planned by Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Elaine Pao and Marketing Associate, Lynn Lin, helped make the first week of the Chinese New Year in 2013 a memorable, fun-filled day for the Program's participants.
